Pay It Forward: Misfit Style

Where to begin... First I'd like to say thank the gods that we were all so very lucky with Hurricane Irene. I expected the worst and got the best. From VA to Jersey, my friends and family are all safe and in one piece! That being said, my next bit of news seems very appropriate in the spirit of thankfulness.

I mentioned in one of my last posts that I have been terribly lazy with the blog this summer. One of the things I've been wanting to highlight is The Misfit Quilters swap group on Flickr. This group is made up of some of the most talented and thoughtful people I know. So it's no surprise that it is from them that this post grew.

One of my great Misfit friends (and twin), Selina, of Wandering Stars and Sew It Up, shared a Pay It Forward post originally from Amanda of  Little Treasure's by Amanda. Since getting to know them both on Twitter and their blogs, I've noticed that they are always ready to do their part when it comes to helping others. One of the first things that comes to mind was their participation in creating a quilt for the tornado victims in Joplin, MO. Read about it HERE.

I'm very excited to be part of the pay it forward project. The concept is simple: Someone does something nice for you and, in return, you pay it forward by doing something nice for someone else. I love the idea of spreading a little unexpected happiness to someone and I love making things and giving them away- just LOVE it!

This is my badge- feel free to use it.
There's a much better one on Amanda's blog
but I couldn't download it :(

How about you- wanna play too? Here are the rules:

1. I will make a little something for the first 3 people who comment on this post. It will be a surprise and it will arrive when you least expect it.

2. I will have 365 days to do it in. What's the catch? To get a handmade present from me, you have to play too! This means YOU pledge to send a little handmade something for 3 readers of your blog. It doesn't have to be quilty - just handmade!

3. You must have a blog.

4. Once you comment here, you must post about your Pay It Forward on your blog to keep the fun going - with the Pay It Forward badge.

Remember, you can make anything you want! And even if you aren't one of the first three to comment, you can still participate by starting your own Pay It Forward or just by doing something nice for someone!

**EDIT: I will accept the first FIVE people to comment!**
