New Stuff

In addition to organizing my workspace (which always takes at least a day) and planning out some projects, I have been working on a new quilt (see the process under Coming Attractions). This one is BIG, for me at least, measuring 72 x 64 inches! I can't wait to actually quilt it. I would have already started if I hadn't changed my mind about the back.Originally I was just going to use the panel from the Moda Freebird fabric line that I used for the top. However, once I received it, I decided that it would be awesome itself as a quilt so I had to order more fabric (bummer, right? haha). Anyway, as soon as I receive the order I will be able to complete the back and get started on the quilting... finally.

In the meantime, I've been working on some new Webster Totes from a shipment of Premier Prints I just received from fabric.com. I love the patterns and the weight of the fabric - so fun and perfect for totes or other projects needing a heavier cotton!

Some fabric combos - I love the giraffes!
I've had a lot of fun playing around with the different combinations of fabric. The only issue is that the fabric is a bit too thick to do French seams. Other Premier fabric that I've used wasn't quite so heavy and I just assumed it would be the same - I know, bad idea especially when ordering online - but I did and now I need either an industrial needle or to line these totes... Suggestions?

P.S. Tricia finally had her baby but I'm going to let her share the details - I just had to put it out there since I'm so excited!!! :)

  1. Oh my gosh I love that piece! All the patterns and colors are so wonderful together. My goodness quilters just amaze me. Super cute fabric choices too... I wish I could give you advice on the needles but I am completely clueless when it comes to that. Like I said, quilters amaze me! ;) Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog today, good luck finding your balance. I know it will come for both of us eventually. :)
