How Does Your Garden Grow?

My husband and I decided to try growing a vegetable garden this year. There are a lot of reasons why this is funny...

1. I don't really like veggies - yeah, yeah, I know they are great and healthy etc. etc. but most don't really appeal to me.

2. We can barely keep up with normal chores and we're going to tend another garden?!
note: You will not be seeing photos of the other gardens because... let's just say they aren't ready for their close-up

3. We have absolutely no clue how to grow food. Flowers, no problem. But FOOD?!

You get the picture.

So this was our big experiment. And I'm excited to say that even if everything were to fall apart right this second, we have successfully grown our very first tomato! Isn't it beautiful? We think so. We did pick it today but are saving it for tomorrow's dinner. And yes,  I did take more pictures. I'll let you know how it tastes =)

But wait, there's more! We also have a cucumber. Actually the one cucumber plant is really growing nicely. I think we may be able to pick it in the next couple days. I can't wait.

Oh, we also have a little baby pepper budding. And I think one of my seeds actually took so another pepper plant is growing too.

How about you? Are any of you growing stuff/experimenting this year?

  1. Look at you being a farmer! I planted veggies last year and it rained SO MUCH that it drowned everything. This year I didn't have the time or energy to go through that again. Maybe next year, or when I move somewhere with a normal rotation of seasons.

  2. You could always move over here!! We are actually really lucky. I never use fertilizer and everything looks pretty happy :)
